The home at 10 Faith Meadows in Williamstown is a recycled timber-frame barn (circa 1880) which was restored and re-constructed on this site in 2002. With energy-efficient windows, a geothermal heat pump and SIP construction, this home is already a model for sustainable living. To protect the esthetics we tucked the solar PV system behind the garage so as to not be visible to their common areas and not detract from the rustic perspectives of the site.
For this grid-tied installation we have installed an initial 3.75 kW ground-mounted solar PV system comprising of Schott and Suniva panels and Enphase M215 microinverters. This installation was performed by Chip Pickering and our own Nick Arnold (imagine—an Architect who likes to get his hands dirty). This installation is owned by Pickering Energy Solutions and power is being sold through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
