12 Faith Meadows in Williamstown, WV was a project home for Pickering Associates. As the first LEED Platinum home in West Virginia, 12 Faith Meadows has 11 kWDC of generation capacity, located on an optimal array on the home and garage roof, and will provide all of the energy needs for the home. Additionally, 12 Faith Meadows provides excess capacity for charging of an electric car, which was included into the projected power budget. This system, like all of our installed systems, is a grid-intertied system in which the excess production on a given day is fed back into the power grid. At night the power used by the home is drawn from the grid, and the billing at the end of the month is based upon the net use—the amount of power used from the power company less the amount produced by the PV systems and fed back into the system.
