AFBM Clinic, Gbarna, Bong County Liberia
Our 2015 program, which began in February of 2015, included development and funding for 12 clinics, 1 school and 2 orphanages in Liberia, Africa. Our partners, Brother’s Brother Foundation (Pittsburgh), Trusted Angels (Charlottesville) and Global Health Ministries (Minneapolis) have supported our program of providing solar power systems in Africa, and we have worked most of the year procuring, shipping and preparing for the fall/winter 2015 installations.
To this end our shipment has arrived in Liberia and we have been able to install our first 2015 solar system on a clinic in Liberia, which was at the African Baptist Mission clinic in Gbarna, Liberia. This clinic hosts American doctors and a teaching school as well as a testing laboratory. This system will provide off-grid power for the 24 hour operations and laboratory at the facility. This is larger than most clinic systems that we provide, however this is the prototype for larger clinics which will support 24 hour operations, water pumping, refrigeration and laboratory loads.
