Belpre was one of the first Solar Adopters, installing solar panels on their city building as early as 2008. In 2018 Belpre approached Pickering Energy Solutions to donate several electric vehicle charging stations, which are currently installed in their Civitan Park. Through this discussion we began to look over options for additional solar PV installations on Belpre City Buildings.
We decided to install a solar system on the roof of the Fire Department on Washington Boulevard, which provides a good opportunity for the community to see Belpre’s commitment to sustainable energy programs while offsetting most of the power used in the building.
This 27 kW system uses 90-Silfab (a Canadian Company) 300W panels and 4-SMA Sunny Boy 7.7 kW inverters. This system will produce approximately 31,000 kWH of energy annually.
This solar system will:
Thanks to the City of Belpre and their leadership for pioneering renewable energy in the region and for setting a good example for the community and surrounding Cities. Thanks to Appalachian Renewable Power for the design, installation and commissioning of this system.
