One Allen Drive
Overview
One Allen Drive is a grid-tied residential system utilizing Enphase M-215 microinverters and Suniva MVX series 255 watt solar panels. This 7.65 kW system was installed over the Christmas season in 2013. As you can see, this installation brings to mind the US Postal Service Slogan “Neither rain nor sleet nor snow will keep us from our appointed rounds”. Brian Allen and Dave Lamp from Davis Pickering did a great job in the midst of adverse conditions to complete the installation.
This system will offset 90% of the energy that the home uses. Built in 2008, the home is energy efficient and uses compact fluorescent and LED lighting extensively and has gas-fired heating and hot water. With deep porches on the front and back the house stays comfortable for much of the year using natural ventilation, and the porches are inviting extensions of the living space.
