Pickering Associates Carport Arrays
In the spring of 2017 Pickering Associates installed its second carport-mounted PV array. This new carport array utilizes Enphase microinverters in the same configuration as the initial array. This new array, wired into Building #1, has 114 Suniva 280 Watt panels and will provide a total of 31,000 Watts of power, or 18,350 kWH of power annually. This amount of produced energy would power about 1 ½ average American homes for a year.
In order to encourage the use of renewable-powered electric vehicles, Pickering Associates has installed (4) electric vehicle charging stations, which are free to use for employees and others. Pickering Associates has one electric vehicle, and two employees are driving hybrid vehicles, so the charging stations are generally well-used on a daily basis.
The project team for this project included Nick Arnold and the Pickering Associates team for the design, engineering and construction management, Mondo construction for the foundation and erection, and Pro1 Electric for the electrical installation.
