Pickering Associates PV System
Overview
Pickering Associates is a multi-disciplined Architectural and Engineering firm located in Parkersburg, WV. As a LEED design provider, PA has been interested in environmentally responsible design and energy efficient operations. When PA discussed energy improvement projects and introducing photovoltaic power to its facilities near Parkersburg, WV, the organization looked at several PV mounting options. PA settled on a design promoted by Nick Arnold, one of its Architects, which has a series of cantilevered parking lot frames for the array mounting. With the installation of Phase 2 of the system in early 2013, all 6 arrays have a production capacity of 21.6 kW and will provide over 80% of the annual power needs for Building 1.
