Nestled in the woods near Waverly, WV is a collection of rustic cabins and timber-frame buildings. The family, living close to nature, has reconstructed original log buildings for their home, workshops, recreational buildings and even a music/dance hall where local bands often come to perform for friends and neighbors.
In keeping with their interest in sustainable living they invested in a 6.5 kW solar PV system which will provide approximately 60% of their energy in an average year. This system uses SolarWorld 270W Monocrystalline panels and the new Enphase M250 250 Watt microinverters. The homeowner installed a new roof over their cabin in preparation for the installation, installing the roof flashing at the same time as the roof installation. The balance of the system was installed in a weekend.
