Carport Solar Power Installation and EV Charging Station
Pickering Energy Solutions donated a solar power system to West Virginia Wesleyan College in April of 2016. This system is located on the roof of the library. Pickering Energy Solutions has recently partnered with WVWC again to install a carport solar structure, and this system will include 4 electric vehicle charging stations, located near the Performing Arts Center.
This carport structure is cantilevered over 14’ deep foundations, and holds 152-Silfab 300W panels and 2-SMA TriPower 30 kW inverters. This 46 kW system will produce approximately 52,000 kWH of energy annually.
This solar system will:
Thanks to the leadership of WV Wesleyan for promoting and encouraging sustainable energy technologies on campus. Thanks to Appalachian Renewable Power for the installation and commissioning of the solar system.
